The Nurses’ Health Study (NHS) is one of the longest and largest ongoing investigations regarding factors that influence women’s health. The NHS began in 1967 and expanded in 1989. Over 238,000 nurses have participated in the research which focuses on the impact of diet, physical activity, and lifestyle on the prevalence of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other health conditions.
